Henry remains in hunt

Last week, local resident Joshua Henry’s resiliency proved to be vital during a late comeback in the first challenge of “Canada’s Greatest Explorer.”
But the one that aired online this week required a much different set of skills.
“The next challenges are going to be much different than the first challenge,” Henry had noted before the second episode aired at www.WoodsExplorer.ca
“It’s going to take more than just endurance and strength for the next challenges that you are going to see,” he remarked.
The second challenge—filmed in Haliburton, Ont.—required Henry and the 11 other competitors to use elements of nature to create land art.
The contestants had time to search the forest for materials, then create their piece of art.
Afterwards, they were judged by university art professor Reinhard Reitzenstein.
Henry was inspired by his adventures as a world traveller when creating his land art.
“What I’ve done is I’ve taken a map and plotted every single continent,” Henry told host Ricky Forbes during the episode.
“And then I’m trying to use as many different aspects as I can from my surroundings here,” he explained.
“Hopefully, it will all come together here and look all right.”
After the art challenge, Reitzenstein announced the top four challengers, which Henry didn’t place in.
In combination with the fourth-place finish out of six in the first challenge, Henry currently sits in ninth place of the 12.
At the conclusion of the next episode, which currently is scheduled to air July 5, the bottom four competitors with be eliminated.
As such, Henry will require an improved result in the next episode to remain in the running to become “Canada’s Greatest Explorer.”
