Three district groups have benefitted from the latest round of the Ontario Trillium Foundation funding announcements.
The Rainy Lake Nordic Ski Club received $25,900 to purchase snowshoes and trail-grooming equipment.
The improvements and equipment will assist in the continued provision of multi-use trails for people of all ages in the Fort Frances area.
The Rainy River District Women’s Institute Museum, meanwhile, received $15,000 to renovate and improve to the Emo facility to ensure it is more accessible for people of all ages and abilities.
And in the far east end of the district, Beaten Path Nordic Trails now has $14,900 to purchase a snowmobile and trailer to help maintain cross-country ski trails in the Atikokan-Quetico area.
Well-maintained trails will help encourage people of all ages to participate in the healthy and active sport of nordic skiing, according to the Trillium Foundation.
