Giant used furniture sale planned

Riverside Foundation for Health Care is planning another giant used furniture sale in September and is looking for used furniture.
A similar event was held in 2002 and raised more than $5,000 for district health care.
“The community really supported our first giant used furniture sale by donating items, selling their items on consignment, and coming out to the sale,” noted Foundation director Teresa Hazel.
“It was a great sale—lots of stuff and almost everything was sold, including the kitchen sink,” she chuckled.
The Foundation is hoping to get that same support this time around.
The sale will be held Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Couchiching Recreation Centre, located on Highway 11 across from the C.C. Complex.
Once again, items may be donated or sold on consignment.
“We’ll charge 15 percent of the sale price for a consignment fee and you tell us the price you want to get for the item,” explained Joan Allison, chair of the Foundation’s special events committee.
“If you’re cleaning out your basement, garage, or cabin, or think it’s time to replace your old furniture, you can call us,” she added.
If you have items you would like to sell or give away, contact Allison (274-9484) or Hazel (274-4803).
Once again, all proceeds will be used to support health care in Rainy River District.
