A fundraiser raffle is being held for Dana Siemens, son of George and Martha, sponsored by the local Emo and District Lions Club.
Last August, Dana had an episode that originally was thought to be a stroke. Subsequent MRIs determined that it was not, however.
After experiencing continuing and worsening symptoms, he travelled to the Los Angeles Hospital in Mexico on Feb. 10 for testing to determine if he was a candidate for the new Chronic Cerebro-Spinal Venous Insufficiency (CCSVI) treatment.
This surgery has since started to be offered in the U.S., but not yet in Canada.
On Feb.11, Dana had the costly surgery and has since experienced some positive results.
Raffle tickets are being sold at various businesses in Rainy River District to help with medical expenses.
Dana and his family would like to thank everyone for their support.
