The OPP’s Marine Unit was active on area lakes over the Canada Day long weekend.
Officers stopped and checked 72 vessels, laying three charges under the Small Vessels Regulations and one Liquor Licence Act charge.
Marine patrols will continue throughout the summer.
In other news, around 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, Fort Frances OPP located a male who was breaching the conditions of a previous release.
The 32-year-old Fort Frances man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with an undertaking.
He was released from custody and will appear in court July 18.
And around 11 p.m. last Thursday (June 30), Fort Frances OPP stopped an erratic driver on the 800 block of King’s Highway.
The driver, an 18-year-old Fort Frances male, subsequently was charged with driving with a blood alcohol level over 80 mg.
He was released and will appear in court Aug. 8.
