Carole Mackintosh of Fort Frances was the lucky winner of $100 a week for a year in the draw held by the Friends of the Emo/La Vallee Community Centre.
Sandie Drennan presented the money on Friday afternoon in the council chambers at the Emo municipal office.
Proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards a much-needed zamboni, which should be ready for the 2004-05 season.
The old zamboni coughed its way through the past season reasonably well, according to arena manager Tony Bliss.
To the supporters of this project, the Friends of the Emo/La Vallee Community Centre are proud of the accomplishments thus far, but there is a long way to go to make it a reality.
Nevertheless, each donation from individuals and businesses is gratefully accepted.
