Fort man wins boat raffle

Fort Frances resident Gerry Wilson was the lucky winner of
the boat, motor, and trailer package—worth $18,446.95—that was raffled off Saturday evening during the Emo Walleye Classic.
The boat, supplied by Tompkins Hardware in Emo, Yamaha, and Crestliner, consisted of a Crestliner Angler 16SC, a F40ELRA Yamaha motor, and trailer.
Colleen Vennechenko, president of the Emo Chamber of Commerce and a member of the derby organizing committee, said tickets were almost sold out.
“I think we had 2,500 printed and we sold 2,300,” she said.
Philip Schram of Barwick won the second prize of a three-day, four-night housekeeping package for two supplied by True North Outposts.
The his and her Bulova titanium watches, donated by Brockie’s Jewellers, were won by Louise Bliss of Emo. Alan Bliss of Fort Frances won the freezer from Green’s and the frozen food package from Ernest Thompson Distributors.
Chuck Mosbeck of Emo won the rod and reel from Richard’s Rod and Reel Service, Theo DeGroot of Emo won the gas torch set from John Bosma Welding and Repairs and BOC-Gasses, and Eric Strom of Fort Frances won the lawn mower donated by DeGagne Equipment.
Scott Kinnear of Emo rode away on the bicycle courtesy of Skates and Blades while Deb Westover of Barwick took home a walkman from Sight and Sound.
Laurie Walsh of Fort Frances won the Hair and Body Shoppe spa package.
