George Armstrong Co. Ltd., a Fort Frances family business, is working out a deal for a 37,000 sq. ft. building in Kenora.
“We buy and lease out buildings all the time,” said company president Larry Armstrong. “This is just another venture.
“Now we’re in the process of going through the details of the closure so I really can’t comment on it,” he added.
The building, once a property of Willow Creek Industries, was sold to the Armstrongs for $605,000, the Kenora Daily Miner & News reported.
The property and two-storey building were seized by the Business Development Bank of Canada when Willow Creek Industries went bankrupt. It was sold to the Armstrongs during an auction Saturday.
Among the buildings owned by the George Armstrong Co. Ltd. in Fort Frances are those housing the Royal Bank, the Northwestern Health Unit, and the Child Access Centre.
