Fort William First Nation issued a “reminder” this week about an ongoing recall of certain types of Pillsbury Pizza Pops products that have been linked to E.coli bacteria and some Canadians becoming sick.

“Some recalled products may still be in household freezers,” a bulletin posted to the community’s website said.

“Members are advised to check their freezers, not consume the affected products, and safely discard them, or return them to the place of purchase,” it added.

According to a Public Health Agency of Canada notice, there have been 23 confirmed cases of people in the country becoming ill from the products, with two of those from Ontario.

Though the online notice is dated Dec. 24, it is still current “and will be updated as the situation evolves,” an agency spokeswoman said on Tuesday.

There have been no reports of deaths related to the products under the recall, the agency said.

“People became sick between early October and late November 2025,” the notice says. “Of the cases reported, five people have been hospitalized.”

“Many people who became sick reported eating or handling Pillsbury brand Pizza Pops,” it added.

Symptoms may include fever, diarrhea and vomiting.

“The investigation is ongoing and it is possible that additional sources may be identified.”

The agency’s notice only includes cases that have been confirmed in a lab.

“The actual number of sick people in Canada is likely much higher,” the notice said. “Many people have mild symptoms and don’t go to the doctor, so they aren’t tested.”

According to the Public Health Agency of Canada notice, the following Pillsbury products are affected by the recall and should not be consumed.

  • Pepperoni + Bacon (30 pizza snacks).
  • Pepperoni + Bacon (eight pizza snacks).
  • Supremo Extreme Pepperoni + Bacon (30 pizza snacks)
  • FRANK’s RedHot Pepperoni + Bacon (Four pizza snacks)
