Five youths reported missing from the Young Star House near Emo on Monday all were located by police before sundown, the OPP reported today.
“Everybody’s back under control and safe,” said Fort Frances OPP S/Sgt. Hugh Dennis.
The five youths—all female—were reported missing from the group home around noon Monday, at which point police responded by setting up a perimeter around the wooded area surrounding it.
The five girls had fled in a group but then split up. The first three were located in the bush around 5 p.m.
Then the K-9 unit and Emergency Response Team (ERT) which had been called in, found the remaining two in the brush before 6:30 p.m.
S/Sgt. Dennis noted the investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
