Five busted after traffic stop

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Kenora, the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), the OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and the OPP Crime Unit has charged five individuals with drug and Criminal Code related offences following arrests in Kenora last Thursday (Aug. 1).

The charges stem from an investigation that resulted in a traffic stop in the north end of Kenora.

Seized during the traffic stop was what is suspected to be: Crystal methamphetamine, over $3000 in Canadian Currency, a firearm and other drug paraphernalia items used for drug trafficking. The street value of the drugs seized is approximately $24,400.

As a result of the investigation, five people were arrested and charged.

These include one man from Winnipeg, a woman from Dryden, two women from Sioux Lookout, and a man from Kenora.

The accused were held in custody and attended bail court Friday at the Kenora Courthouse.
