Firefighters battle blaze at OSB mill

District firefighters were called to the Ainsworth mill in Barwick last Thursday after a fire broke out there.
The call came in around 6:20 p.m., noted Marvis Darrah, who is chief of the Chapple volunteer fire department.
Chapple firefighters attended the fire along with the Morley fire department, which was called in for assistance.
After roughly four hours fighting the fire, Darrah said they were running low on air, at which time the Dawson Fire Department came to assist.
“We were there for roughly eight-and-a-half hours,” noted Darrah.
The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined yet and remains under investigation, he added.
No injuries were reported.
