Fire scene starting to heat up

Three new fires were confirmed in the Northwest Region yesterday.
Dryden Fire #16, located near Blue Lake Provincial Park, was listed as “not under control” at last report.
The 0.1-hectare blaze was human-caused.
Sioux Lookout Fire #12, located near Angling Lake First Nation, also was “not under control” at 0.1 ha in size.
But Sioux Lookout Fire #11, located near Fault Lake, since has been declared “out” at 0.1 ha.
The fire hazard is “high” in the northern sectors of the region and “low” in the southern sectors.
In related news, the long-burning Kenora Fire #18 has been declared “out.”
Meanwhile, Red Lake Fire #3 and Thunder Bay Fire #19 remain “under control” and being monitored.
