Fire risk set to rise

One new fire was confirmed in the Northwest Region by yesterday afternoon.
Thunder Bay Fire #23, located near Trewartha Lake, was listed as “not under control” at 0.2 hectares in size.
The forest fire hazard is “moderate” throughout most of the region, with an area of “high” hazard in Red Lake District.
But the hazard is forecast to rise through the rest of the week across the region as warmer temperatures and clear weather continues.
