No new fires were reported in the West Fire Region yesterday.
Cool, wet weather has reduced the fire hazard to low across all sections of Northwestern Ontario.
FireRangers continue to focus on training and proficiency exercises across the West Fire Region.
Pump set-up, hose lay training, hover exit certification, and first aid are a few of the courses and exercises forest firefighters have been involved in.
Under the Forest Fires Prevention Act of Ontario, day burning of brush or grass is not allowed.
You may start a fire no sooner than two hours before sunset and it must be put it out no later than two hours after sunrise.
Choose a safe site, keep your fire small and never leave it unattended, and remember to ensure the fire is put dead out before leaving the site.
