Fire hazard creeping up

Staff

A combination of light winds, sunny skies, and cool temperatures has increased the forest fire hazard to “moderate” for the Northwest Region.
Twelve fires remain active across the region.
These include two monitored fires in Quetico Provincial Park and one monitored blaze on an island on Lake of the Woods.
Nipigon and Sioux Lookout districts also are monitoring longstanding fires in the far north while the Red Lake District continues to keep an eye on Red Lake Fire #31.
All fires are showing minimal signs of life and are not posing a risk to people or property.
Report forest fires by calling 310-FIRE (3473).
