Fire crews sent to Montana

Ontario is supporting forest fire-fighting efforts in the United States.
Some 108 personnel were deployed yesterday to Missoula, Mont., including FireRanger crews, a fire behaviour analyst, and agency representatives.
Meanwhile, Ontario continues to supply equipment, including fire hose, sprinkler kits, pumps, and chainsaws, to Alberta, B.C., Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.
Locally, two new fires were confirmed by yesterday afternoon.
Thunder Bay Fire #46, located near Buck Lake, was listed as “under control” at 0.1 hectares.
Thunder Bay Fire #47, near Lac Du Milieu, was reported as “being held” at 1.0 ha.
The forest fire hazard is “moderate-high” in the southern sectors of the Northwest Region and “low” in the northern ones.
