The Rainy River District Festival of the Performing Arts, 2008 is soon to begin.
This will be the 68th Festival of the Performing Arts—a long and proud tradition that has played host to thousands of talented performers over the years.
Please visit the festival’s web site at www.ff-festival.com, where all festival documents and information are available for download.
During the weeks of festival activities (April 14-25), photos, results, and news will be posted to the website, as well.
The committee especially recognizes the financial support from the “Friends of the Festival.”
Their generous donations have made it possible to keep the festival’s entry fees low enough so that all families are able to take part—despite the rising costs of adjudicators, awards, and other expenses.
The committee’s preparations throughout the year, the hard work of the many volunteers at festival time, the effort and dedication of the entrants as they prepare for their performances, and the encouragement of their family members, teachers, friends, and mentors all are necessary to make festival happen.
Festival 2008 invites the Rainy River District community to enjoy the many talented performers who will be on stage over the next two weeks.
Dates of this year’s festival are:
•Vocal—April 14-16;
•Drama (French)—April 16;
•Drama (English)—April 17-18;
•Piano—April 21-25;
•Instrumental—April 17-18; and
•Highlights concert—Saturday, May 10
Programs are available at the festival website, or at Fort Frances Public Library and Cloverleaf Shop Easy Store in Emo.
Volunteers are always needed to work at festival events. Call Marilyn Allan at 274-3893 if you are able to help out.
