On Monday, members of the Treaty #3 Police Service attending Mitaanjigaming First Nation in response to a fire that had engulfed a home.
It has been learned that a member of the community has passed away in connection with this fire.
The Treaty #3 Police Service has partnered with the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office and the OPP’s Northwest Region Forensic Identification Unit to complete this investigation.
Foul play is not suspected at this time.
