Fatal crash near Ignace

Dryden and Ignace OPP responded to a three-vehicle accident yesterday around 2:30 p.m. on Highway 17, 36 km west of Ignace in Hodgson Township, in which saw one person was killed.
Investigation revealed a westbound 2005 Pontiac Montana, driven by Dennis Nestrovich, 56, of Sioux Lookout, collided with an eastbound Chevrolet Impala driven by Jose Dulude, 44, of Winnipeg, Man.
A third vehicle, a 1992 GMC Sierra pickup, driven by Robert McKay, 44, then struck the Impala, causing moderate damage to the truck.
Nestrovich succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Dulude was extricated from his vehicle by the Ignace Fire Department and airlifted to Thunder Bay Regional Health Centre with serious injuries.
One passenger in the Nestrovich vehicle was transported to Dryden Regional Hospital by ambulance while a second was treated at the scene.
The lone passenger in the Dulude vehicle was taken to Dryden Regional Hospital by ambulance and later released.
McKay was not injured.
The highway did not re-open until 9:45 p.m.
