Farmers’ market planning yard sale

Press Release

The best deals can be found at the Clover Valley Farmers’ Market this Saturday (June 9).
The market is hosting a Yard Sale day and would like to invite all readers to empty your garage and raid your closet!
Bring those “gently-used” items to the market and turn a profit.
Yard sale vendors will set up outside for a low fee of $10, with the market taking care of advertising in the paper, online, and on the radio.
Avoid the hassle of organizing your own yard sale and come to the market where there already are customers!
Interested individuals are asked to book a space in advance via e-mail at info@clovervalleyfarmersmarket.com
New to the market this week is vendor Carla Basaraba, who is visiting with a wide range of Epicure Selection products.
This popular kitchen line includes spices, spice mixes, and various kitchen paraphernalia such as pots and cooking utensils.
Also ask Basaraba about how to host a private Epicure party in your own home.
While you are in the cooking mood, visit Lowey’s Greenhouse display for great choices in herbs you can grow in your garden.
Have an endless summer supply of fresh herbs for cooking by purchasing potted parsley, thyme, rosemary, and basil.
This summer, the market is happy to be offering the talented culinary skills of Chef Ryan Parisien from Naicatchewenin Development Corp.
Chef Parisien, who has his Red Seal in Culinary Arts, is referred to as the “Northern Iron Chef” because he won the “Iron Chef” competition in Thunder Bay back in 2010.
He is dedicated to promoting local foods from our district through healthy eating initiatives.
His menu uses local ingredients from vendors within the market, such as Nighswanders’ Baking, Rainy River Elk Company, Rainy River Meats, and Gerber’s Farm.
Visit the market for either breakfast or lunch, and enjoy menu items such as the mouth-watering Lamb Slider with blue cheese or flavourful Elk Burrito.
Or try a truly Canadian meal and order Rabbit Poutine!
And definitely do not miss Chef Parisien’s homemade ice cream featuring seasonal flavours like strawberry rhubarb!
Located on McIrvine Road, just north of Canadian Tire, the Clover Valley Farmers’ Market is open Saturdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
