Family Day sure to be fun

The Emo-La Vallee-Chapple Healthy Communities Coalition is hosting its annual Family Day event this coming Monday (Feb. 20) from noon-4 p.m. at the Emo-La Vallee Community Centre.
A family skate is planned from noon-2 p.m., followed by shinny hockey from 2-4 p.m. (helmet and gloves mandatory).
As well, movies, games, and snacks will be available there throughout the afternoon.
This fun-filled day is free and everyone is welcome to attend!

Norbert Bragg underwent hip replacement surgery on Monday (Feb. 13) in Dryden.
He is doing well and hopes to be home by the end of the week.

Crossroads will hold its next school council meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 21 starting at 6 p.m.
A light snack will be provided, and everyone is welcome to attend.

Crossroads junior intermediate students will be heading to Biwabik, Mn. to ski next Thursday (Feb. 23).
Students are reminded to be at the school by 7 a.m. as that’s when the bus is leaving.

Hats off to the organizers and volunteers of the Fort Frances Community Chest fundraiser dinner held Sunday evening at La Place Rendez-Vous.
Once again, the community came through to support this worthy cause.
Also a big thank-you to Kim Cornell, who filled in at the last moment as auctioneer.
There were some newcomers at my table and their comment about the event was “it was an absolutely delightful evening.”

Cards played at the Emo Legion last Wednesday saw Rita Woodland and Adelia Guba take the high while the low went to Gail Thompson and Jean Steele.
Darlene Bruce won the draw.
