The annual Fall Bass Classic on Northwest Bay over the weekend once again was a huge success.
Winners of the tourney were the Winnipeg team of John Guzej and Ted Stewner, who also reeled in the biggest fish of the tournament.
La Vallee/Devlin angler Doug McBride and his partner, Steve Ballan, took fifth place overall.
Eric Lessman and Tom Pearson earned $300 for reeling in the biggest fish on Day 1 of the competition (Saturday).
Way to go Dale LaBelle and staff for another great bass tournament.

Another popular event was the annual harvest super held Sunday at the Devlin Hall, where more than 350 guests were served.
Although I wasn’t able to attend, I’ve heard the meal was scrumpcious, the hospitality great, and many a comment, “the good Lord willing, we’ll be back next year.”
The funds raised helps Guthrie United Church with its expenses.

Robin’s 2¢:
“Oh, Sally,” said Harriet, “I was sorry to hear about your husband. What happened?”
“Well,” answered Sally, “last Sunday I sent him out to the garden to pick a cabbage for supper. He was gone so long, I went to see what was wrong and found him lying there dead.”
“Oh, how awful!” said Harriet. “What did you do?”
“Oh, I just opened a tin of peas,” Sally replied.
