Head librarian Shirley Sheppard last week was showing off some of the new books the Friends of the Emo Public Library helped to bring in.
The group recently raised $500 by raffling off an acoustic guitar and lessons.
With that money, the EPL was able to bring in some new children and young adult softcover books, such as “Star Wars—Revenge of the Sith” and “Lurlene McDaniel—The Time Capsule.”
As well, there’s a novel entitled “The Greenies,” which is based on real-life experiences of children who came out of the concentration camps after World War II.
There also are lots of new stories about bugs and dinosaurs, and all kinds of fun things for smaller children to read.
The EPL has just received a shipment of soft-covered Western novels for those who enjoy that type of story line. Along with these are many new hard-covered, non-fiction novels, including Mary Higgins Clark and her “No Place Like Home.”
The Emo library also tries to keep a large quantity of many best-sellers in large print. So whatever you are looking for, be sure to stop in.
And don’t forget to watch for the upcoming Librarian’s Pick-of-the-Month beginning in June.
