The Royal Canadian Legion Br. #99 in Emo will be hosting another fantastic fish fry this Saturday (Feb. 11) starting at 5 p.m.
The cost will be $13 for adults and $5 for kids six and under, with the meal sure to be another sell-out.
Everyone is invited to come out for a great meal, meet up with some friends, and support the local Legion.
Take-out orders will be available prior to 4:30 p.m.
In related news, the Emo Legion will host a fantastic show on May 11 when well-known Canadian championship fiddler, Scott Woods, will perform many of the tunes made popular by famous fiddlers from across North America.
Tickets will be going on sale across the district over the next few weeks.
Those interested in getting tickets are urged to do so as soon as possible.

The Rainy River District Women’s Institute will host its annual “Heritage Luncheon” on Friday, Feb. 17 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the United Church in Emo.
Admission is $8 for the luncheon, which will include casseroles, salads, and desserts. There also will be a bake table and door prize.
All funds raised will go towards support of the W.I.’s Pioneer Museum in Emo.

The next meeting of the Donald Young School pupil accommodation review committee will take place there this Thursday (Feb. 9) starting at 7 p.m.

The Emo and District Lions Club plans to host its second-annual “Farmers Night” on Saturday, March 24 at the Barwick Hall.
The evening will include dinner, a cash bar, and draw prizes donated by local businesses and national sponsors. Everyone will go home with a prize.
Tickets, which cost $25 each, will be available from any club member or by calling 482-3788, with proceeds to go towards projects in Rainy River District.
Watch for posters around town, and remind your family and friends to mark March 24 on their calendars.
Those interested in attending are encouraged to get their tickets early.
