Emo Legion set to hold fish fry

The Emo Legion will hold its annual January fish fry, also featuring mashed potatoes, wild rice casserole, baked beans, cole slaw, and dessert, this Saturday (Jan. 29).
Admission is $12 for adults and $5 for children six and under.
Take-out orders are available and orders also can be delivered.
Please pre-order by Friday afternoon or early on Saturday.
Come out for a delicious meal as well as an evening of mixing and mingling.

A benefit roast beef dinner/dance for Tyler Romyn is planned for Saturday, Feb. 12 at the Devlin Hall.
The supper begins at 6 p.m., with the dance to follow.
There also will be a penny table and Chinese auction.
Tickets cost $20 each.

The next Bingo at the Emo Legion will be held Feb. 8.
The next “Country Jam” there is planned for Feb. 18.

Cards played at the Emo Legion last Wednesday saw Darlene Bruce and Joan Buttazoni take the high, with the low going to Roy Elias and Nicole Drennan.
Donna Sheppard won the draw.

Cards played at the Devlin Hall last week saw Rudy Meyers and Lorna Robinson take the high, with Bob Meyers and Yvonne Kellar taking the low.
The next card party is slated for Tuesday, Feb. 1 starting at 7 p.m.
The cost is $5, which includes a lunch.

Crossroads School here in Devlin will be celebrating Family Literacy Day tomorrow (Jan. 27).
Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and family friends are invited to come and read to students from 2:15-3 p.m.

A reminder that this Friday (Jan. 28) is a P.A. Day for all district students.
Term 1 report cards will go home on Feb. 7 while a Crossroads school council meeting is planned for Feb. 8 at 6 p.m.
