Emo Legion set to hold 50/50 party

The Royal Canadian Legion in Emo will hold its monthly 50/50 draw and evening of entertainment this Friday (Jan. 27).
“Milestone” will perform, along with Emo Mayor Vince Sheppard, with the dance beginning at 9 p.m.
Come out and enjoy the evening—and perhaps be the lucky winner of the 50/50 draw.

Last week’s cribbage winners at the Emo Legion were Merv Hyatt and Jim Elias, with the low going to Rudy Meyers and Irwin Morphet.
Gerald Bullied won the draw.

A fish fry, also featuring salads, potatoes, and all the fixings, will be held Saturday, Feb. 11 starting at 5 p.m. at the Emo Legion.
Take-out orders will be available prior to 5 p.m., with advance tickets available at the Legion.

Scott Woods will perform at the Emo Legion on May 11, during which he’ll play a tribute to the fiddler legends.
Advance tickets are available at the Emo Legion and Dev-Lynne’s, which cost $20 for adults and $10 for children.

Sympathy is extended to the family and extended family and friends of Emily Monroe.
She was a kind, caring person who will be missed by many.

Cards were played at the Devlin Hall last week saw the high score go to Norbert Bragg and Doreen McKay, with Lois Shine and Don Kinnear taking the low.
Cards are played every second Tuesday at the Devlin Hall.
Come out and help pass the long winter evenings by enjoying some cards and socializing.

This Thursday (Jan. 26) is a PA Day for all students in Rainy River District.
A reminder that this Friday (Jan. 27) is Family Literacy Day, along with Winter Carnival Day, at Crossroads School in Devlin.

The Jeff Currie rink from Thunder Bay has advanced to the Northern Ontario men’s provincial curling playdowns in Sault Ste. Marie from Feb 5-12.
Devlin native Mike Badiuk is the lead on this team.
