The Emo Legion is a very busy place these days and in the upcoming month.
There will be a fish fry there on Saturday, Feb. 11 starting at 5 p.m. (take-out orders are available prior to 4:30).
The cost is $13 for adults and $5 for kids six and under, which includes fish, potatoes, salads, and all the fixings.
Meanwhile, the Legion is holding a Bingo next Tuesday (Feb. 7), with the doors opening at 6:30 p.m.
And finally, the next “Country Jam”—featuring an evening of old-time music and socializing—will be held there on Friday, Feb. 17.

The lucky winner of the Emo Legion’s 50/50 draw held last Friday (Jan. 27) was Bev Lindall, who pocketed $627.50.

Sympathy is extended to Lois Shine and family on the passing of her mother, Laura (Belle) Shine.
Laura was a lady with a big heart and a sense of humour to match.
She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.

The Muskie boys’ hockey team will host its annual tea and bake sale on Saturday, Feb. 11 from 2-4 p.m. at the FFHS cafeteria.

Erika Johnson and her new daughter, Hayden Brook, were honoured at a baby shower Sunday afternoon at the Devlin Hall.
Many well-wishers enjoyed an afternoon of socializing and passing around the infant.

Chris Playter (Hyatt) celebrated her 65th birthday, with a party held on Sunday.
Meanwhile, a very happy birthday to Dorothy Taylor, who turned 90 last week.

The Tracy Horgan rink of Sudbury captured the provincial title Sunday in Kenora.

A reminder that the Scott Woods Band will perform at the Emo Legion on May 11.
This would be a nice way to spend Mother’s Day, which falls on May 13 this year.
Tickets cost $20 for adults and $10 for children, which are available at the Emo Legion and Dev-Lynne’s.

Maxine Hayes, Rod and Veronica Davis, and Lucille MacDonald have been working on a genealogy exhibit at the Fort Frances Museum.
Pictures and artifacts are now on display, with people welcome to drop in and browse around.
Organizers also could use some help with names, dates, etc.
Maxine also is updating the Miscampbell Tweedsmuir history and is looking for stories about teachers and residents.

The third meeting of the Donald Young School pupil accommodation review committee is set for Thursday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m.
This will be a general information meeting and allow people to voice their concerns regarding the school’s future.
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
