Emo hospital auxiliary hosts ‘Strawberry Social’

The annual “Strawberry Social,” hosted by the Emo hospital auxiliary in the cafeteria last Friday afternoon, was a huge success, according to organizers.
In fact, the crowd overflowed into the Queen Street Manor dining room.
Everyone who joined in the come-and-go fellowship and strawberry dessert enjoyed the atmosphere greatfully, and appreciated the work of the auxiliary.
Auxiliary member Christine Hartry looked after memberships, while welcoming guests and registering them for gifts was Mary Gavin and Louise McComb.
Chairperson Heather Oltsher and her kitchen staff were kept busy moving the goodies around. I noticed Eva Agnus and Mrs. Phillip Whatley serving while I happened to be there.
Winner of the door prize and afghan (made and donated by Sis McComb) was Elia Hakkarainew, a former RN at Emo hospital and now retired.
She was overwhelmed upon being presented with the draws.
