Emo Hospital Auxiliary completes pledge

Press Release

The Emo & District Hospital Auxiliary recently completed their pledge to the Riverside Foundation for Health Care to purchase two Spirit Select beds and specialised mattresses for the Emo Health Centre.

Valued at approximately $12,500 each, funds for one of the beds were raised through the auxiliary’s annual teas, raffles of generously donated items and through monetary donations from the public.

The second bed was made possible through a donation to the auxiliary of $12,500 from Emo resident Gordon Woollard. Woollard’s wife, Marg, who has been a resident of LTC at the Emo Health Centre for the past three years has been using one of the beds comfortably for the past couple weeks.

The new beds are easy to use, efficient and built around fall prevention to help keep both patients and staff safe.

The auxiliary is now looking ahead to their new pledges of dining tables for the cafeteria, an ice machine dispenser, and privacy curtains and tracking for patient rooms.

At a combined value of approximately $18,000, the auxiliary is confident that with the continued support of the public they will be able to fulfill these pledges.
