The Township of Emo will be hiring summer students (aged 15-30) who will be returning to school in the fall.
Applications will be accepted until 3 p.m. on Monday, May 14 for the following positions: Recreation Program Assistant/Co-ordinator and Labourer for the Parks Department.
Inquiries concerning the positions can be made at the Municipal Office.

Cardboard and paper currently are not being accepted at the Emo recycling depot. At this time, it only is accepting #1 and #2 plastics, aluminum, and tin.
Thanks for keeping these items out of our landfill. Recycling benefits everyone!

The Emo Legion is looking for a part-time bartender/clubroom steward, starting immediately.
Resumes can be mailed or dropped off in the clubroom on Monday to Saturday from 3-6 p.m.
In other Legion news, a Heart and Stroke Foundation fundraiser, entitled “Who’s Crafty Night,” is set for Friday, June 1.
Be sure to mark the date on your calendar and watch for more information.
As well, the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #99 will be hosting a prime rib supper at the Emo Arena during the Emo Walleye Classic.
The supper will be on Saturday, May 26 from 5:30-8 p.m. Tickets cost $25 each, with only a limited number being printed.
They are now available at the Legion.

The next “Country Jams” will be held on May 25, June 22, July 20, and Aug. 17. Come out and bring a friend for an evening of good old country music, dancing, and socializing.
The bar will be open and snacks can be purchased from the kitchen. For only $2, you can have a great time and dance the evening away.
New musicians are always welcome. Please bring your own electronic gear and be prepared to start playing around 7 p.m.

The Rainy River-Baudette Border Lions are raffling off a fantastic pontoon boat. It is a 16-foot Alumacraft Trekker, complete with a Shorelander trailer and a 20 h.p. Yamaha motor.
This wonderful prize has been provided by Tompkins Hardware in Emo and is valued at $11,255.08.
Second prize in the draw is $1,500 while third prize is $500. Proceeds will go to the Rainy River Curling Club and its fire relief project.
Tickets cost $20 each. Be sure to pick up yours and support projects in the Rainy River area.
The draw will be held during the annual Rainy River Walleye Tournament in September.
