Emo celebrates Heritage Day

The Emo Museum was busy Saturday with people visiting over lunch during Heritage Day festivities hosted by the Women’s Institute.
The ladies who belong to this group are so friendly and inviting, and it is apparent they really believe in what they do.
You could hear them telling stories to each other, or informing people of the different things this organization has helped to do over the years.
For example, the W.I. first brought the 4-H organization into this area, which has turned out to be a very popular group in itself.
These days, the group is more geared to improving health care and providing health information to those in the area.
The W.I. also would like to see new members join to help continue with the all the many things it does year in and year out.
The group also had a bake and craft sale on Saturday to raise funds for the museum, which is located on the highway in Emo.
The museum currently is thinking about relocating to a bigger and newer building. Anyone who has ever stopped in to see the artifacts on display certainly knows this move could not come too soon.
