The Emo Public Library has begun searching for a new CEO/librarian just months after hiring Mellisa Gallagher for the role.
Emo posted the opening for the 25-hour-per-week position on social media and its website on Tuesday.
The library closed its doors at the end of December 2025, after former CEO/librarian Nick Donaldson stepped down after four years in the position. In March of this year, Gallagher took over the role with plans to increase its funding over time.
The library board and township have not publicly disclosed why Gallagher is leaving the position.
Applications are to be submitted no later than Aug. 18 to Crystal Gray, Emo’s Chief Administrative Officer and Clerk-Treasurer, at township@emo.ca in a single PDF file.
A complete job description is available at the EMO Municipal Office or www.emo.ca.
