Emily Watson is seeking re-election as reeve of La Vallee.
She is the local Contact North site co-ordinator and is married to Grant. The couple has two daughters, Amanda (Ray) and Carrie (Derek), and one son, Andrew (Leslie).
Their five granddaughters are Ashley, Caelynn, Kamryn, MacKenna, and Allysha, and two grandsons are Ryan and Nicholas.
Watson has been reeve of La Vallee for the past three years. Prior to that, she was a councillor for nine years. She also represents the municipality on the Rainy River District Social Services Administration Board and the Rainy River District Municipal Association.
Her experience also includes being president of the Rainy River Valley Agricultural Society for the past three years and sitting on the board of directors for Riverside Health Care Facilities, Inc. for the past eight years.
Watson chose to live in this particular municipality and enjoys representing the community. She is involved in areas such as agriculture and forestry because it affects many of the residents.
As reeve, she ensures that everyone receives fair and equal treatment.
Watson’s campaign signs are black and white because she believes that is how municipal business should be—open and transparent, with no grey areas or hidden messages.
