EDBMHA hands out awards to its players

A lot of different players took home awards from the Emo-Devlin-Barwick Minor Hockey Association’s annual banquet last Friday night.
The Robert Steele Memorial Award was presented by Bob and Ross Steele to Craig McTavish. This award is given to the most versatile player in the Midget division.
Kevin Mclean came forward to present the Doug Wilson Memorial Award to one player from each Bantam team for sportsmanship and dedication.
This year’s winners were Matt Mutz (Predators), Joe Bodnar (Fury), and Lauren Krukoski (Esso).
The hockey trainer’s certificate was presented to Paula Clifford for recognition of her outstanding contributions as a hockey trainer in the province of Ontario.
The OPP team from the IP2 division saw Bretton Joseph receive the most improved player award, Bret McQuaker win the most dedicated award, and Dylan Swire take home the most sportsmanlike award.
In the Atom division, Cody Vien of the Hawks took home the most improved player award, Robbie Rea went home with the most dedicated award, and Angel Nixon earned the most sportsmanlike award.
The other Atom division team (the Rockets) saw Victoria Clifford win the most improved player award, Lindsay Bourre went home with the most dedicated award, while Allen Elias won the most sportsmanlike award.
In the PeeWee division, the three winners from the Thunderbolts were Thomas Anderson (most improved), Devin Ball (most dedicated), and Jameson Shortreed (most sportsmanlike).
Winners on the Gillons’ team were Anikka McTavish (most improved), Kim LaFleur (most dedicated), and Emily Lougheed (most sportsmanlike).
In the Bantam division, winners from the Fury were Sam Hayes (most improved), Ashe Woolsey (most dedicated), and Andrew Friesen (most sportsmanlike.
Winners from the Predators were Ethan Firth (most improved player), Andrew Wilson (most dedicated), and Colin Kaemingh (most sportsmanlike).
And for Esso, the winners were Sarah Hoskins (most improved), Kailey Curtis (most dedicated), and Taylor Meyers (most sportsmanlike).
In the Midget division, the winners on the Cowboys were Tyson Caul (most improved), Tyler Kinnear (most dedicated), and Terry Carmody (most sportsmanlike).
Each player from every team was presented with a certificate of achievement from David Kaemingh on behalf of Imperial Oil Esso and an oversized chocolate bar on behalf of the EDBMHA.
A fishing trip, donated by LaBelle’s Birch Point Camp, also was awared at the end of the evening and the lucky winner was Tarren Romyn of the Hawks.
