DYS holds book display, sale

Donald Young School in Emo held its annual book display and sale last Thursday and Friday in the gymnasium.
DYS librarian Marie-Ann DeGroot co-ordinated the program, which saw students browsing through all elements of the book display.
Books are magic–they can ignite the imagination of children, especially in the lower grades.
The purpose of the book display/sale is to generate funds to replace outdated books in the non-fiction section of the DYS library. And it is sailing into a new school year with enthusiasm.
“Sales [were] brisk,” noted DeGroot. “We had quite a few parent volunteers. This project is exciting in bringing knowledge to each student.
“Something is new and is happening,” she enthused.
