Duo busted for pills, pot in Atikokan

On Wednesday, members of the Drug Enforcement Unit assisted by members of the Atikokan Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Thunder Bay Police Service Canine Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Mercury Avenue East in Atikokan.
Officers seized more than 200 prescription pills including oxycodone with an estimated street value of $4,000 and more than 1,000 grams of marihuana with an estimated value of $20,000.
Also seized was $35,630 in Canadian currency and $855 in US currency.
Charged with possessing oxycodone and marihuana for the purpose of trafficking were two Atikokan residents, Tyler Kraft, 24, and Jessica McLeod, 26.
The Combined Forces Organized Crime Unit consists of members from the Thunder Bay Police Service, O.P.P. Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, R.C.M.P., Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service and Anishinabek Police Service.
