DU banquet sold out

The Fort Frances committee of Ducks Unlimited has announced its 22nd-annual banquet and auction, slated for May 7 at La Place Rendez-Vous, already is sold out.
DU member Larry Cousineau contacted the Times yesterday afternoon to say all 200 tickets have been sold.
“On occasion, we’ll have the odd cancellation,” he noted. “If someone wants to put their name on a waiting list, we still might be able to get you in.”
To get on the waiting list, talk to Cousineau at Cousineau Brokers or contact another DU committee member.
If some tickets do become available, they’ll cost $50 per person (which includes a $25 DU membership) or $75 for couples (including one membership).
Cousineau did note two tickets for the DU banquet still are available as items up for bid during the local Kiwanis Club’s annual TV auction coming up April 24 on Channel 10.
Meanwhile, those who got their tickets as of yesterday are eligible for the early-bird draw, which will be held at the banquet.
The prize is a flying mallard weathervane, which can be mounted on a pole or roof. Made of cold-rolled steel with an attractive copper finish, this item features a duck head logo above a directional arrow.
As in past year’s, the DU banquet will feature all sorts of items up for auction. This year’s feature item is a framed and autographed Gordie Howe jersey from the Detroit Red Wings.
