The Fort Frances Fire Department was called to the Adventure Inn late Saturday night after a dryer there caught fire.
Firefighters were called to the scene shortly after 11 p.m. and were there for about three hours, Fire Chief Steve Richardson said Monday morning.
While the blaze was confined to the dryer in the utility room, Chief Richardson noted smoke had spread throughout much of the west end of the building.
Firefighters spent most of their time there using positive pressure fans to clear the smoke out of the structure.
Chief Richardson noted one staff member suffered some smoke inhalation, but did not have to go to hospital.
While the fire started in the dryer, the exact cause of the blaze remains under investigation, said Chief Richardson, adding the damage also hasn’t been totalled yet.
