The Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment would like to remind the travelling motorist that there is a large increase of motor vehicle collisions involving wild animals on the local highways.
In May 2007, members of the Dryden OPP investigated 29 motor vehicle collisions in the Dryden area, 21 of those motor vehicle collisions involved wild animals which made up 72% of the collisions.
The OPP would like to remind the public to stay alert when driving at night and whenever weather conditions reduce your visibility.
Also stress and fatigue can affect your driving ability. Your thinking slows down. You can miss seeing things, you may make the wrong decision or not make the right one fast enough.
Don’t drive when you are tired. You might fall asleep at the wheel.
