Driver facing charges

Rainy River District OPP charged an adult male with impaired driving just after 6 p.m. on Aug. 14.
During routine patrol, officers stopped a 1997 pick-up truck on 800 block of Wright Avenue in Fort Frances after observing a male who was known as being a suspended driver.
As officers were speaking with the driver, it was determined he had been drinking.
The 27-year-old male from Wollaston Township, Ont. was arrested for failing a roadside screen device and taken to the OPP detachment for breath tests.
He subsequently was charged with having a blood alcohol level over .08 mg and driving under suspension.
The vehicle was impounded for a minimum of seven days and he was issued a mandatory driver’s licence suspension.
He is scheduled to appear in court here Oct. 15.
