Driver facing charges

On Friday at 2:45 p.m., the Rainy River District OPP responded to a traffic complaint about a possible impaired driver on King’s Highway, proceeding east into Emo.
Officers located the suspect vehicle in Emo and stopped it.
The driver, a 37-year-old woman from Rainy River First Nation, was arrested and taken to the Fort Frances detachment for tests.
The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for the mandatory seven days.
The driver subsequently was charged with:
•driving while ability impaired;
•refusing to provide a breath sample;
•failing to comply with conditions; and
•driving while under suspension
She was to appear in court in Fort Frances today for a bail hearing.
