Driver faces several charges

On May 2 around 9:44 a.m., Rainy River District OPP officers conducted a traffic stop for an infraction near Colonization Road East and Fifth Street East here.
After speaking with the driver, it was determined he had been drinking.
The driver, a 21-year-old Couchiching male, failed the roadside test and subsequently was arrested.
The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for seven days.
The driver, meanwhile, was taken to the Fort Frances detachment and subsequently charged with driving with a blood alcohol level over 80 mg following the results of breathalyzer tests.
He also faces several Highway Traffic Act infractions.
The man will appear in court here May 4.
