Donna O’Sullivan and Chris Wielinga were recently named as recipients of the Governor General’s Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medal. This award is presented to paramedics who have served for at least twenty years providing the highest quality of care. O’Sullivan and Wielinga will receive their official awards at the 2024 OAPC Fall Gala.

Chris Wielinga is a deputy chief of Paramedics Services with the board. He spent a number of years on the road working out of Fort Frances before transitioning into a management position. He is responsible for the fleet and equipment maintenance, as well as a variety of other duties.

O’Sullivan has spent most of her career working full-time in Emo and is currently specializing in paramedicine where she spends most of her time visiting patients in their homes and running various wellness clinics. She also facilitates many vaccine clinics across the district.

Congratulations to both Chris and Donna for their dedicated service to health care that definitely makes for better health care in our district.
