District driver nabbed by police

Yesterday around 5 p.m., the Rainy River District OPP received a report of a traffic complaint on Off Lake Road near Emo.
Officers located the vehicle and driver in the Village of Emo.
During the investigation, the driver, a 34-year-old Emo man, was arrested and transported to OPP detachment for breath tests.
The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for the mandatory seven days.
The driver subsequently was charged with driving with a blood alcohol level over 80 mg and having a blood alcohol level over 80 mg.
He will appear in court in Fort Frances on June 13.
The OPP also is investigating a mischief that occurred in Fort Frances.
There are several reports of motor vehicles being entered, with vandalism occurring throughout the district.

Police are reminding drivers to “Lock It or Lose It,” and remove all valuables from their vehicles overnight or keep valuables out of sight.
If possible, park vehicles in well-lit areas and report any suspicious behaviour to police.
