The Emo Legion will host a fish fry this Saturday (Jan. 31), with the menu also featuring salads, potatoes, desserts, and a beverage.
The meal will be served from 5-7 p.m., with admission being $12 for adults and $5 for children six and under. Take-out orders are available prior to 4:30 p.m.
The Legion ladies always put on a delicious meal. And chances are you’ll meet up with some folks you enjoying visiting with, so it’s an evening you won’t want to miss!

Sis Steele is comfortably settled into her new home (she moved in the first week of January).
Sis now lives very close to Crossroads School here in Devlin, making it easy for her two grandchildren to come visit.
Sis says she’s very happy with her new home and location.

Sympathy is extended to Jean and Norbert Bragg on the loss of her father, Raymond Pearson, who passed away Jan. 22 in his hometown of Roseau, Mn. at the age of 90.
He will be sadly missed by Jean.

Deep sympathy also is extended to the many family members and friends of Bob Woolsey, who passed away last week while on vacation in British Columbia.
Bob was a friendly, outgoing man who definitely could be called a “people person.”
I remember him making the phone rounds when my Dad and Bubs Hughes were still living, along with Norbert Bragg and Gerald Bullied, plus I’m sure others that he still called daily up until his passing.
He will be remembered for his love of laughter and happiness that he brought to so many people. He, too, will be sadly missed.

And sympathy to Ann Jason from Pinewood on the passing of her only sister, Dot Beaton. She passed away Jan. 22 in Delia, Alta.

Missy Nelson bravely competed in the annual “Freeze Yer Gizzard Blizzard Run” in International Falls back on Jan. 17.
She ran the 10-km distance in a time of 58 minutes and seven seconds, which was good enough for 10th place in her age group.
Congratulations, also, to Jake McTavish, who finished first in his division with a time of 45:36.

The lucky winner of the Fort Frances Legion’s 50/50 draw held in January was Rosanna Tweedie, who pocketed $1,434.
Her husband, Earl, sold her the winning ticket.
Rosanna says she’s been buying Legion tickets for about 50 years and this is her first win ever!
