Devlin couple wins big

Press Release

Ron and Sandy Ogier of Devlin were the grand-prize winners of the $10,000 Canada Day Cash Lottery held by the Riverside Foundation for Health Care.
The $2,000 second prize went to Sarah Marusyk of Alberton while Nancy and Leonard Noonan of Fort Frances won the $1,000 third prize.
The winners of $500 each were Ed Halvorsen, Nancy Dittaro, Susan Carmody, and Judy and Roy Williamson.
Although the Foundation still is busy calculating the final net profit, it is safe to say that the lottery surpassed its goal.
As such, the Foundation will be able to purchase a new automated vital sign machine for one of our local hospitals with profits from the fundraiser.
The Foundation would like to congratulate the winners, and thank everyone who purchased a ticket this year.
The lottery continues to be such a success because of the support of people like you!
A special thank-you goes out to Manitou Weather Station Fishing Lodge for its generous donation of our early-bird prize.
A big thank you, as well, to the local businesses who help sell tickets and to all of the volunteers who help make this raffle a success.
The next big fundraiser for the Foundation will be its annual fall gala, which will take place Oct. 3 at the Copper River Inn.
The community will be invited to indulge in the spirit of an old-world circus and join us “Under the Big Top.”
