Devlin busy with upcoming activities

Spring is just around the corner and many events are in the planning stages to help you shake off those winter blahs.
For instance, the annual figure skating show is coming up this Saturday (March 23) at 7 p.m. at the Emo/La Vallee arena. “A Tribute to the Big Apple” is the theme of this year’s show.
Advance tickets are available at Greensides, The Village Variety, Emo Dental Centre, and Fairway Store.

The Sunset Country science fair will be held April 12-13 at Robert Moore School in Fort Frances. This is the regional science fair, with schools from Dryden, Nestor Falls, and many more slated to compete.
I had the opportunity to attend one of these events three years ago in Dryden and they’re very interesting and remarkable to attend.

Robin’s 2¢:
This one is for my daughter, Carley, who turns 16 today.
A family was on their way to the hospital with their 16-year-old daughter, who was scheduled to undergo a tonsillectomy.
During the ride, they talked about how the procedure would be performed.
“Dad,” the teenager asked. “How are they going to keep my mouth open during the surgery?”
Without hesitation he quipped, “They’re going to give you a phone.”
