Sioux Lookout OPP, with assistance of the Lac Seul Police Service, are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 54-year-old Lac Seul First Nation man.
The body of George Carpenter’s body was located in a residence on Whitefish Bay on Sunday subsequent to an accident where the OPP’s Emergency Response Team and an Incident Command Unit attended the scene in response to a report that a subject was firing shots there.
A post-mortem examination was to be conducted today at the Chief Coroner’s Office in Toronto.
Members of the OPP North West Region Forensic Identification Unit are assisting with the investigation, which is being conducted under the direction of Det. Insp. D. Olinyk of the Criminal Investigation Branch in Kenora.
