Foul play is suspected in the death of a 45-year-old Wabaseemoong First Nation resident, whose body was located inside a residence with obvious signs of blunt trauma.
Police had been called to the residence in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day in response to a disturbance.
The deceased was taken to Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora, where a post-mortem was scheduled for yesterday (Jan. 2).
Members of the Treaty #3 Police Service, assisted by the OPP’s Criminal Investigation Branch and the Forensic Identification Unit, are continuing to investigate the death.
